What it connects
- Verkada Access users to track who has building access.
- Product access for each user to see which Verkada products they can use.
- Access groups and levels, retrieved when building access changes.
- Doors and access events, retrieved when someone reports a problem.
What it automates
- Add or remove users from access groups as people join, move, or leave.
- Add, activate, or deactivate access cards and other credentials.
- Set start and end dates on a user's access for contractors and temporary staff.
- Open doors remotely as an admin when someone is locked out.
In practice
- A new hire needs badge access to the office. After approval, STLabs adds their access card and puts them in the right access group.
- When an employee leaves, STLabs deactivates their Verkada access cards and removes them from access groups during offboarding.
- A contractor starts a three-month project. STLabs sets start and end dates on their Verkada access so it expires on schedule.
- An employee is locked out of a side door after hours. After security approval, STLabs opens the door remotely through Verkada.
